The Bairs Foundation Ambassador Program brings together a network of trial lawyers and civil justice stakeholders who have an appreciation for the work the Foundation does, and who want to contribute to its continued success. Being a 501(c)(3) public charity, the Bairs Foundation relies heavily on individual donations, grants, and other fundraising initiatives to continue the work we do. Ambassadors host an event in your local community to raise awareness of our non-profit and to raise money for families in need.
The Bairs Foundation helps keep people out of poverty while they seek justice for a tragedy or catastrophic accident that they or a loved one have fallen victim to. We provide low-interest advances to cover basic living expenses so families can make ends meet while they go through litigation.
The Foundation also levels the playing field by enabling plaintiffs to go the distance with their lawsuit and see it through to its just end, often against deep-pocket defendants. We’re strengthening the U.S. civil justice system by increasing access to justice for all.
The average size of an advance we provide is $5,000.00. Our advances are used for basic living expenses such as housing, utilities, transportation, and groceries. Since inception in 2017, we have supported nearly 250 families. However, we have had to turn down over 400 requests; one of the reasons being the limited amount of funds we have available.
As an Ambassador, you will work alongside our Executive Director to prepare for and plan for your event. This could be a happy hour at a bar, a parlor meeting in your home, a lunch and learn at your office, or any other type of get together where you can invite your network and encourage them to show their support for the Bairs Foundation’s mission.
What’s more: our non-profit model of funding is self-sustaining. We provide low-interest loans, and when a settlement is received, the money, plus interest and a small application fee, is paid back. That money goes right back into the pool of funding available to the next family.
Ultimately, we are looking to raise $1 million in seed funding. With $1M, we can fund 200 families. By year ten, that money will have grown on its own, to enable us to fund almost 1,200 families. We want to increase the amount of families we fund by 100 per year for the next ten years. We need you to help us accomplish that goal.
We all know that tragedy can happen to anyone at any time. 78% of American workers are living paycheck to paycheck. An accident can completely up-end one’s life. Join us in cultivating a fair, compassionate, and self-sustaining alternative to the predatory lending industry.
